This past weekend I had the privilege of attending one of golf’s greatest and oldest tournaments here in the United States - The Masters. It was great to see all those talented golfers up close, especially this year’s winner Bubba Watson. I know what you’re thinking, what does golf have to do with chocolate chip cookies?
One of the most amazing things about the Masters is the food. No, they don’t serve an extensive, upper crust menu like you might think. Instead, you can get a $2 pimento cheese on white bread sandwich, a $3 imported beer, and my favorite a $1 chocolate chip cookie. This is no ordinary chocolate chip cookie, this is one of the best I have ever had. Every single cookie is baked perfectly with the tiniest bits of real toffee placed perfectly around the most delicious chunks of chocolate. Here’s the kicker, you can only get it at the Masters, or at least that’s what I thought.
I have to admit I went to this year’s Masters to get me one or two, OK twelve, of those unbelievable cookies. To my delight, they added two new cookies to the menu: oatmeal raisin and white chocolate chip with Georgia pecans. They were very good, but not as good as that dreamy chocolate chip cookie.
By noon I had decided to purchase my stash of cookies to take home with me, but to my shock the concession stand nearest to us was out and they had no idea when they would be getting more in. So, like any good connoisseur of fine cookies I left my husband and my perfectly placed chair on the 12th green and went searching for “the cookie.” Two hours, four concession stands. and about ten miles later I found seven chocolate chip cookies – OK maybe I’m exagerrating the miles, but man did my feet hurt the next day.
I really enjoyed watching the golf, but I loved those chocolate chip cookies. So much in fact, I did a little research and found the fine purveyor of my favorite cookie and it is………….The Christie Cookie Company. The great news is you too can have one of those incredible cookies, they ship all over the United States.
Have a great day and get online and order your Masters chocolate chip cookies.
