I had the pleasure of meeting two super talented and very “sweet” candy creators this week at the Cook’s Warehouse; Liz Gutman and Jen King, co-owners of Liddabit Sweets candy company in Brooklyn, New York. The two women started their small, but powerful candy company 3 1/2 years ago after meeting and completing the Pastry Arts program at the French Culinary Institute.
After much success and lots of “can I get that recipe” comes their first cookbook, The Liddabit Sweets Candy Cookbook. In a nut shell, it’s a guide to making great candy inside your home kitchen. How perfect! And right before the candy giving, holiday season is set to start.
I got my copy and I’ve already read through half the book. I gained 5 pounds and got a little dizzy by page 88. (That’s where you can find a sure fire crowd pleaser – Brandied Cherries.)
I highly recommend the book, it demystifies the candy making process and it’s very entertaining along the way.
For those of you who want to skip the creative process, then go onto the Liddabit Sweets website and order up some of those delicious candies and get them shipped straight to your door step. Either way, you won’t go wrong.
Have a great weekend!
